MRI Scan Referral Service at The Family Osteopath

Benjamin Court, registered osteopath and principle at The Family Osteopath, is delighted to offer a referral service for both existing and new patients, using the most modern and up to date imaging service provided at The Cobalt Trust’s premises in Cheltenham, please click here for more details of their service provision.

Please note that a referral to have an MRI is required from a registered healthcare professional.

What is an MRI scan? - MRI scans are the gold standard in imaging techniques as they offer so much more to see, specifically the bone and soft tissues such as intervertebral discs, nerve and blood vessels as well as muscle, ligament and tendons, than a plain X-ray that merely sees bone tissue. The MRI can deliver the all too important medical diagnosis to your painful symptoms accurately and in a hurry too with most appointments offered within a few days of referral and the consultant radiographers report being emailed back within five days – this means you have the answers you are looking for fast.

How does it work? – Simply call Benjamin on 01285 712300 or email care@thefamilyosteopath.co.uk to arrange an initial appointment with him so that he can best evaluate your needs and complete the referral which is done online. The Cobalt Trust will then call you directly to arrange a time that suits you best to attend, and then you simply turn up as instructed and pay them directly. You will be given a CD Rom containing your MRI scan results on the day to take away with you and then a full consultant radiologist report will follow within five days. A follow up consultation with Benjamin is then undertaken to discuss the results of the report and its outcomes which may be a recommendation for some, more or no further treatment or a referral back to your GP armed with the diagnostic information.

What does this cost? – The MRI scan is paid for directly at the Cobalt Trust at £218.00. Benjamin’s fees are £100 which includes both the initial consultation, follow up consultation and the referral to the Cobalt Trust MRI scanner.
